Self Reliant Diver

self reliant scuba diving

What will I learn?

The Self-Reliant Diver course covers the following topics:

  • Dive planning

  • Life support system readiness

  • Adaptive training and backup equipment

  • The value of equipment redundancy

  • Dive planning and gas management.

The course is completed over 3 dives as well as an in-depth theory session beforehand to introduce you to equipment that you may not be familiar with using. Requirements for enrolling on this course include 100 logged dives and certification as Advanced Open Water Diver. This is also an excellent course for aspiring professional-level divers, who although aren’t necessarily diving alone, are often acting as a dive guide/instructor and do not have a dedicated buddy. This course will improve independency and self-confidence when dealing with an emergency situation.

*We recommend you own the additional equipment to do this course but we can hire it to you as well. Course includes standard equipment but redundant air source (pony or stage) additional regulators and any other additional equipment to undertake the course is excluded and must be hired.
